History of Dhunna Jathere

Sh. Kasturi Lal Dhunna Ji (Bhagat Ji) from Uggi Village was the founder of this place of Dhunna Jathere. As per information received from our ancestors, 300 years back families of 2 Biradaris (Rajputs & Soods) were residing in this Village named Kotla Sudan. At the time of heavy rains, this village was usually sunk with flood water. Due to this reason, Sood families vacated this Village, however, Rajput (Dhunna) Families decided to keep staying here.

There was a little girl in the Dhunna family named Bhani. She was the yongest sister of 7 brothers. One night she got a dream of God with a message that this flood will be stopped if any unmarried girl sacrifices her life (बलि) during flood.

Then Bhani decided to sacrifice her life in the age of 13-14 years to save the Dhunna Families. She jumped into the flood and become SATI to save the Vansh of Dhunna Families. Since then their is no flood in this village. From then, Sati Bibi Bhani Ji is worshipped as Kuldevi of Dhunna Families.
